Parme Marin is a Paris-born, New York City-based visual artist whose work spans sculptures and paintings. Marin’s studio practice is grounded in an exploration of materiality and identity.  She interrogates the meaning of motherhood, bodily autonomy, domesticity, and femininity through complex multimedia artworks, printmaking, figurative drawing, and painting resulting in a distinctive visual language. She honed her studio practice through extensive study of figure drawing and printmaking at The Art Students League of New York.

Marin’s solo exhibitions include Spring Break Art Show (New York, NY 2023), My Tribe at the Four Seasons (Marrakech, Morocco 2014), and Sur Mes Traces (Park Hyatt, New York, NY 2015), and she has exhibited in numerous group shows including MVVO Art at The Oculus (New York, New York 2022), Instaselect V.2 at Mark Borghi (Sag Harbor, New York 2022), and Male Nude: Turning The Gaze at Equity Gallery (New York, New York 2022), Paroxysm at Westbeth Gallery (New York, NY 2023).

Marin’s career has always been rooted in form and innovative design. Before becoming a full-time artist and moving to Manhattan, Marin lived in Marrakech where she collaborated with Moroccan artists to better understand their authentic practices. This experience directed her to a bold new vision that included the outsourcing of wood, leather, and bone and enabled her to apply new forms and key elements to her practice. Marin eventually founded a successful fashion line focused on creating sustainable and ethical products in limited volumes and empowering Moroccan craftsmen. In tandem, she went on to design for Hermes Atelier Petit H, working with some of the top leather connoisseurs to repurpose Hermes materials. Her decade-long career in fashion design has allowed her to take a unique approach to her artwork, which often reflects on the body, its parts, and people's relationships to it.
